Locally advanced and metastatic
Cancer staging can feel very complicated, so please ask your doctor to explain in more detail why it matters and what your stage means for you.1
Osimertinib is a targeted therapy for locally advanced and metastatic late-(stage 4) EGFR+ NSCLC2-4
Locally advanced EGFR+ NSCLC is stage 3 disease where the cancer has not spread to other organs, and is treated with osimertinib where surgery is not an option.
Your NSCLC tested positive for a certain EGFR biomarker, which is why you and your doctor chose this drug.2
Osimertinib is a targeted therapy, which means it is a treatment that specifically attacks EGFR and blocks the growth and spread of lung cancer cells.2-4
Targeted therapies are not chemotherapy or immunotherapy.5
Talk to your healthcare professional about the importance of staying on track with your osimertinib treatment to help prevent your lung cancer from growing or spreading.3
Always keep communicating with your doctor and healthcare team so they know how you’re doing with your treatment. Be aware of any changes that you notice in your body and let them know if/ when you experience any side effects.3
